Obituary for Donald Waclaw
Donald Waclaw 61 of LaSalle passed away with family at his side Saturday November 9 at 11:45AM in his residence after a long illness. A funeral service will be Wednesday November 13 at 10 AM in The Burgess Funeral Home in LaSalle. The very Reverend Paul Carlson Pastor of LaSalle Catholic Parishes will officiate. Burial will follow at St. Hyacinth Cemetery. Full military rites will be accorded by the LaSalle / Oglesby Veterans Memorial Group Visitation will be Tuesday night from 5 to 7 PM and Wednesday morning in the funeral home from 9 AM until the time of services.
He was born on September 30, 1958 in St. Mary’s Hospital in LaSalle to Gerald and Karen (Jakowski) Waclaw.
He served his country by enlisting in the Air Force and retired after 20 years. He was a helicopter mechanic. While station at Andrews Air Force Base he served on the Presidential Helicopter Squadron.
He married Vicki Vasquez on January 18, 2002 in Ottawa.
After retiring from the service, he was a technician for Illinois Valley Business Equipment in Peru.
He was a past member of the Cedar Point Sportsman Club. He enjoyed sky diving and fishing. He always enjoyed being around family and friends.
He is survived by: His wife, his mother
2 Sisters: Cindy Cherpeske of LaSalle, and Beth (Jim) Kissinger of McHenry Illinois.
2 Step Daughters: Gina (Jay) Jones of Utica, and Kristi Cadegiani of LaSalle.
3 Step Grandchildren and 2 nephews
He is preceded in death by: his Father (1986), Paternal and Maternal Grandparents.
