Obituary for Sidney 'Sid' Duttlinger
Sidney “Sid” Duttlinger 85 of LaSalle passed away Sunday January 12 at 1:57PM in Illinois Valley Community Hospital in Peru. Visitation will be Tuesday Night from 5 to 8 in the Burgess Funeral Home in LaSalle. A Scripture Service will be at 4:45. Additional visitation will be Wednesday in St. Hyacinth Church in LaSalle from 9:30 until the time of services. A Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 on Wednesday in the Church. Reverend Paul Carlson will officiate. Burial will be in St. Hyacinth Cemetery in LaSalle. The Burgess Funeral Home in LaSalle is handling the arrangements. He was born on March 31, 1928 in LaSalle to William and Frances (Jasiek) Duttlinger. He graduated from St. Bede Academy, class of 1946, and was a member of the Golden Bedan Club. He married Shirley Munson from Waltham Twp, on September 13, 1952 in St. Hyacinth Church in LaSalle. He worked for Illinois Power for 43 years as a ground man / driver on a line crew. He belonged to St. Hyacinth Church and was an usher for many years. He was the last surviving member in the Rover Boys of LaSalle. He loved his family very much, enjoyed gardening, and keeping his country, home and property in beautiful condition. He was a lifelong Bears, and Norte Dame Football fan. He enjoyed watching Blackhawks Hockey. In his 61 years of marriage he and Shirley visited each State and stayed at least 1 night in each. He is survived by; his wife of 61 years. 5 sons; Jim (Linda) of LaSalle, Daniel (Michele) of Woodridge IL, Neal (Kathy) of Lebanon Oregon, Alan (Rhonda) of Newark IL and Jon (Beth) of Princeville IL. 12 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren He is preceded in death by; his parents, 2 brothers William and Clark His 12 grandchildren will serve as pallbearers. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the family to be given to his favorite charities.
