Obituary for Patricia "Pat" Wagner
Patricia “Pat” Wagner 81 of Utica passed away peacefully with family at her side on July 10, at OSF St. Joseph Hospital in Bloomington, IL. A funeral mass will be held on Tuesday July 16 at 10am at St. Mary’s Church in Utica. The Very Reverend Michael Driscoll, Pastor of St. Mary’s Church will officiate. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Utica. Visitation will be Monday July 15, from 4 to 7pm at the Burgess Funeral Home in LaSalle. Additional visitation will be at the funeral home on Tuesday July 16 from 9am until the time of services.
Pat was born on January 5th, 1943 in Elgin, Illinois to Boon and Irene (Pesz) Kennel.
She married her best friend and the love of her life, Craig Wagner on October 17th, 1964 at St. Mary’s Church in Peru.
For many years, Pat was a nurse for several doctors in the Illinois Valley Area. She was an active member of St. Mary’s Church in Utica. In fact, for many years Pat played the organ for St. Mary’s in Utica and St. Columba Church in Ottawa. She belonged to the Illinois Valley Citizens for Life, serving as the Chair for a period. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America. At home, Pat enjoyed gardening, reading, and taking care of the animals. She cherished spending time with her family and friends. She would always find time for each and every one of them.
Pat is survived by: her husband, Craig of nearly sixty years.
One Daughter: Tena (Adam) Kincaid of Gibson City, IL.
Five Sons: Kurt (Tanya) Wagner of Sunnyvale, CA, Scott (Cathy) Wagner of Davenport, IA, Rex (Sarah) Wagner of Madison, WI, Roy Wagner of Urbana, IL, and Brian (Nicole Hale) Wagner of Davis Junction, IL.
Five Grandchildren
Four Sisters: Diana (Barry) Fohrman of Hinckley, IL, Sandra Ohler of MT. Pulaski, IL, Alice (Lary) Field of Caledonia, IL, and Susan Kennel of Utica, IL.
Several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by: her parents, one sister (Linda Young), and one grandson (Jon Wagner)
