Obituary for Jo Ellen Lipka
Jo Ellen Lipka 80 of Peru passed away peacefully with family at her side on May 17, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Ottawa. A visitation for her will be on Monday May 22 from 5 to 7 at the Burgess Funeral Home in LaSalle. Cremation rites will follow.
Jo Ellen was born on April 18, 1943 at St. Mary’s Hospital in LaSalle to Burton and Winifred (Knight) Mayers.
She married Lyle Lipka.
For over ten years she was employed by Illinois Valley Hospital in Peru, working in several departments.
She cherished spending time with family and friends. She enjoyed being out among others, either visiting, shopping, dining, or playing bingo.
She is survived by:
Two Daughters: Kim (George) Lamboley of Seneca, and Karey (Keith) Walter of Peru.
Three Grandchildren: Jonah Lamboley, Jacey (Collin) Kontio, and Ethan Walter.
Nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by: her parents, her husband (Lyle 2015), and a grandson, George Lamboley III (2018). Three Brothers: James, Jerry, and Jay Paul Mayers. Two Sisters: Jackie Gould and Jean Raiter.
