Obituary for Kay A. Bellis
Kay A. Bellis, 63, of Kenosha, passed away peacefully December 3, 2021, at Hospice Alliance in Pleasant Prairie, surrounded by her loving family. She was born June 14, 1958, in LaSalle, IL to the late Joseph and Irene (Kasza) Catalanello.
Kay was a caring wife, mother, and friend. She was full of kindness and generosity, as demonstrated by her many years of volunteering and charitable giving. Kay always found a way to make everything fun. Her stories and mischief have provided many fond memories for her loved ones. She was never afraid to get her hands dirty and felt herself at home in the garden.
Kay is survived by her husband of 42 years, Gary Bellis; daughter, Alicia (Matthew Bassitt) Bellis; sister, Laure Full; brother, Brian Catalanello; sisters-in-law, Sandra (Bill) Hillier and Jennifer Bellis; brother-in-law, Terry (Linda) Bellis; eight nieces and nephews; very close friends, Joe and Candy Starns; and her special puppy, Olivia. In addition to her parents, Kay was preceded in death by her beloved son, Matthew Lee Bellis.
A celebration of life will take place on Saturday, December 11, 2021, from 12 noon until 3 pm, at Stella’s Casa Capri, 2129 Birch Rd., Kenosha. Friends and family are invited to join Gary and Alicia for an afternoon of reminiscing and storytelling.
A memorial mass will be held on Saturday, December 18, 2021, at 11 am, with visitation from 10 am-11 am, at St. Valentine’s Church, 1109 Pulaski St., Peru, IL. Interment will be at St. Vincent Catholic Cemetery in LaSalle, IL with a luncheon to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Breast Cancer Research Foundation at bcrf.org.
