Obituary for William "Bill" Medley
William “Bill” Medley 81 of Peru died unexpectedly in his residence September 10 at 6:51PM. Cremation rites have been accorded. A memorial mass will be held September 15 at 11 AM in St. Hyacinth Church in LaSalle. The Very Reverend Paul Carlson Pastor of LaSalle Catholic Parishes will officiate. Burial will follow in St. Hyacinth Cemetery. Memorial visitation will be in the church Saturday from 9 AM until the time of services. The Burgess Funeral Home of LaSalle is handling the arrangements.
He was born on April 1, 1937 in Paducah, Kentucky to William and Laura Peck.
He married Mary Johl on September 26, 1959 in Chicago at St. Priscilla Church.
For 33 years until his retirement in 1999 he was a transport operator for Consolidated Freightways.
He was a member of St. Patrick’s Church, but frequent St. Hyacinth Church.
He was a member of the Teamster Unions 705, 710 of Chicago and 722 of LaSalle. He was a very sociable man, and totally enjoyed interacting with his family and friends. He extremely enjoyed his camping trips and working in the yard. They equally gave him great pleasure.
He is survived by his wife,
2 daughters: Lisa (Bob) Wachowiak of LaSalle and Julie Bugiyne of Sandwich IL.
2 granddaughters’: Jaci Wachowiak and Kaylee Bugiyne
2 sisters: Jan McDonald of Paducah Kentucky and Jennie (Ben) Liotta of Holcombe WI.
He is preceded in death by: his parents, 1daughter (Mary) at infancy, 1 son Eddie (2009), 2 brothers and 5 sisters.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to his family for his favorite charities.
