Obituary for William "Bill" McTee
William “Bill” McTee 55 of Utica passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on February 15 after a 5 ½ year battle with Metastatic Prostate Cancer. Per his wishes cremation rites have been accorded.
Bill was born April 5, 1966 to James (Marsha) McTee of Braidwood IL., and Frances McTee of New Lenox IL. He graduated from Lincoln Way High School. He served in the Army Reserves in Houston TX. After serving he attended the University of Arizona in Tucson. He received a Bachelor of Science Degree in mining engineering. While attending U Of A he met and married the love of his life, Kimberly McTee. They were married in Glendale AZ. On May 19, 1990. Bill and Kim followed his career in mining from Gillette WY., to Winnemucca NV., to Chatham IL., to Utica IL. They have two sons; Joshua McTee of Oglesby, and Nicholas McTee of Utica. While working Bill completed distance learning through Concordia University Wisconsin. He received his Masters Degree in Business Administration. Bill is survived by 2 brothers; Patrick McTee of new Lenox, IL., and Christopher (Lisa) McTee of Schaumburg Il. Their two sons; Cormac and Owen. He is preceded in death by; his paternal grandparents; James and Helen McTee, and his maternal grandparents; Guido and Agnes DeSandre.
Bill was a very loving, optimistic, selfless, and patient husband and father. His two greatest accomplishments were his two sons. He was always there to give them his attention, time and advice. He involved himself in the activities that each boy was involved in at any given time. He and Kim loved to travel. They traveled frequently and were fortunate to hit many destinations on each other’s bucket list. Bill loved sports and played golf with his son, father, brother and friends. He was an avid reader.
Bill’s love and generosity reflected the heart that Jesus gave him when he accepted him as his Lord and Savior on Father’s Day 2018. He was devoted to his daily walk with Christ, and sharing his love of the gospel. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
A memorial visitation will be held on Friday March 4 from 5 to 7 in the Burgess Funeral Home in LaSalle. A Celebration of Life Service will be Saturday March 5 at 11 at the Grace Bible Fellowship in Peru. Visitation will be from10 until the time of the service.
In lieu of flowers the family request that donations be made for missions through the Grace Bible Fellowship.
