Obituary for Steven W. Randol
Steven W. Randol 70 of Paducah, Kentucky formally of LaSalle, and Bloomington, IL. passed away on January 27th. A memorial service will be Saturday February 3rd at 11 in the Burgess Funeral Home in LaSalle. The Very Reverend Tom Otto Pastor of LaSalle Catholic Parishes will officiate. After the service, the Peru Veterans Memorial Group will conduct full military rites at the funeral home. A memorial visitation will be Saturday from 9 until the time services at the funeral home.
Steven was born on November 26, 1953 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Decatur, IL. to Kenneth and Ura (Helton) Randol.
Steve married the love of his life and best friend, Pam Donnelly on May 22, 1987 in LaSalle.
Steve was very proud of his military service in the United States Marine Corps. He attained the rank of Sergeant, E-5, and served as a Ceremonial Guard for Marine One with the Marine Helicopter Squadron One (HMX-1). He provided security for the President of the Untied States and the Presidential Special Lift Aircraft in support of the White House Mission. He was awarded the Presidential Service Badge for his service to the Ford and Carter Administrations.
He was employed by Sauer Danfoss for thirty years in which he retired from there. After he retired, he worked a variety of jobs, with the last one being, Area Disposal in Clinton, IL.
Steve was a volunteer for Special Olympics Illinois. He volunteered for various organizations when Pam or the children signed him up.
He is survived by: his wife of thirty six years.
his two daughters: Jennifer (Dex) Randol and Michelle (SFC Mark) Riggenbach.
one son: LCDR Mike (Anna) Shea USN.
one grandson: Zachary Riggenbach.
two sisters: Alice Ring of Cherry, IL., and Jenene Carlyle of Bethany, IL.
Steve's daughter: Kathryn Randol
brother- in- laws: Glenn Newberry, Jim (Mary) Donnelly, Kevin (Victoria) Donnelly, and Tom Donnelly.
sister-in-law: Mary Lou Bennington.
Several nieces and nephews. his loyal rescue dog: Molly, who spent many days with him at Kentucky Lake. His Reidland, Kentucky, neighbors who became family over the past eight years.
He is preceded in death by: his parents, his sister Joan, brother-in-law Alan Ring. His rescue dogs; Lucky, Chelsea, Thumper, and Rusty.
