Karlosky Obituary
Sophie Karlosky 91 of La Salle died Friday June 5 at 8:46PM in Heritage Healthcare Center in Peru. Visitation and Services will be in St. Hyacinth Church in La Salle on Tuesday June 9. Visitation will be from 9:30 to 10:30 in the Church. A funeral mass will be at 10:30. Reverend Paul Carlson will officiate. Burial will follow in St. Hyacinth Cemetery in La Salle. The Burgess Funeral Home in La Salle is handling the arrangements.
She was born on August 25, 1923 in La Salle to Julius and Mary (Heroldt) Wieczorek.
She married Arthur “Art” Karlosky on October 18, 1947 in St. Hyacinth Church in La Salle.
She was employed by Conco in Mendota for 40 years. She retired in 1983.
She was a member of St. Hyacinth Church, and a member of Conco’s Quarter Century Club.
She had many special interests, but the one that stood out for her personally and publically was her seasonal decorated lamp post in front of her home on 11th St in La Salle. She was a St. Louis Cardinal fan.
She is survived by; several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and 10 great-great nieces and nephews, a sister-in-law Violet Wright of Arizona.
She is preceded in death by; her parents, her husband (2004), 6 brothers, and 4 sisters.
