Obituary for Salvador Godina
Salvador Godina 63 of LaSalle passed away unexpectedly At OSF St. Francis Peoria Thursday March 23. A funeral mass will be Saturday April 1 at 11 in St. Hyacinth Church. Father Thomas Otto Pastor of LaSalle Catholic Parishes will officiate. He will be laid to rest in St. Vincent Cemetery. Visitation will be at the Burgess Funeral Home in LaSalle on Friday March 31 from 5 to 7, with a rosary at 7. Additional visitation will be in the church on Saturday from 10 until the time of services.
He was born on April 5, 1959 in Mexico to Salvador and Juanita (Huizar) Godina .
He was employed by National Metal Wares in Peru. For over 40 years he was employed at Hearthside Factory in Wenona as a packer.
He was a member of St. Hyacinth Church. He enjoyed the outdoors in many capacities with mostly enjoying going fishing. Spending time with his family and friends was a great love to him. He especially cherished being with his grandchildren. He always had great joy hanging with his best friend “Snowball” his dog.
He is survived by:
Four Daughters: Erin Gardner of Springfield, IL., Araceli Lopez of LaSalle, Christy Doty of Wenona, and Maria Post of Kansas.
Two Sons: Reynaldo Godina of LaSalle, and Juan Flores of LaSalle.
Many Grandchildren.
One Brother: Jesus Godina
Two Sisters: Delfina and Eva Godina
Many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by: his Parents and One Son: Daniel Martin Godina (1998).
