Rosemary A. Swietek of Peru passed away peacefully on April 13th at Allure Healthcare in Peru. A funeral mass will be held Friday April 17th, at St. Hyacinth Church, at 11:30. The Very Reverend Tom Otto, Pastor of Saint John Baptist de LaSalle Parish will officiate. Burial will follow at St. Vincent Cemetery. Visitation will be in the church on Friday from 10 to 11:30.
Rosemary was born on April 25, 1928 at People’s Hospital in Peru to John and Matilda (Zibert) Swietek.
She was employed by Westclox in Peru for twenty-seven years, in the accounting department. She was employed by Ladd Tool in which she was the office manager for ten years. She finished her career at Horizon House in Peru in the accounting department for nine years.
She was a member of St. Hyacinth Church. She was a former member of St. Roch’s, and Resurrection Church, where she was involved in the Lady’s Sodality, and Altar and Rosary. She belonged to the Slovenian Women’s Club.
Her greatest love was being with her family and friends. Traveling, and taking bus trips brought her great joy to her being with old friends, and making new ones, especially the trips to the boat for fun and a good meal.
She is survived by two brothers; John (Janice) Swietek of La Salle, and Don (Mary Jo) Swietek of Topeka, Kansas. Many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by; her parents, and two brothers, Wayne and Tom Swietek.
