Obituary for Ronald "Ron" Furar
Ronald “Ron” Furar 85 of Oglesby passed away peacefully on Thursday May 27 at 10:27 AM with his family at his side. A funeral mass will be at 2 at Holy Family Church in Oglesby. Reverend Paul Carlson Pastor of Holy Family Church will officiate. Burial will follow at St. Vincent Cemetery. Visitation will be in the church on Saturday from noon until the time of services. The Burgess Funeral Home in LaSalle is handling the arrangements.
Ron was born on February 14, 1936 in LaSalle to John and Mary (Bele) Furar.
He married Isabelle Polizzi on October 15, 1960 in Holy Family Church in Oglesby.
He was employed for 28 years at Westclox in Peru where he worked in the machine shop. He later worked for Consolidated Freightways in Peru for 18 years in the maintenance department.
He was a parishioner at Holy Family Church. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus in Utica. He loved spending time with his family and friends. He cherished watching his grandchildren participate in any of their endeavors.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years
2 Sons: Randy (Carole) Furar of Davie FL., and Tommy (Corinne) Furar of Nashville TN.
2 Daughters: Sheri (Mike) Harlow of Oglesby, and Lori (Tom) Turczyn of LaSalle.
8 Grandchildren: Tyler Harlow, Krista (Jason) Shipp, Holden Harlow (Gabby Iossi), Amanda and Emily Furar, Kelsey (Casey) Swingel, Abby Turczyn, and Mickey Gene Furar.
2 Great Grandchildren: Shae Swingel, and Brody Shipp.
Several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by: his parents, and 2 brothers: Frank and John Jr. Furar.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the family in which will be given to Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital in Nashville TN.
