Obituary for Roger Schmoeger
Roger Schmoeger, 81 of Peru, with his loved ones at his side, passed away peacefully on February 13th at Manor Court in Peru. A funeral mass will be Monday, February 19th at 11:00 at St. Mary’s Church in Utica. Fr. Michael Driscoll, Pastor of St. Mary’s Church will officiate. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Utica. A visitation will be at the Burgess Funeral Home in LaSalle on Monday from 9:00 until the time of services.
Roger was born on December 12, 1942 at St. Mary’s Hospital in LaSalle to Walter and Mary (Mecozzi) Schmoeger.
He married the love of his life and best friend, Ann (Pillon) Schmoeger on April 11, 1964 at St. Patrick’s Church in Ottawa.
For forty two years he was a Senior Communication Technician for Western Electric (AT&T).
Roger was a talented craftsman. His greatest attribute was building his cabin in Door County, WI. He cherished spending time with his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife of fifty nine years.
Two Sons: Jeff (Mary) Schmoeger of Lake Mills WI. and Dave (Terra) Schmoeger of Lake Tomahawk, WI.
Two Daughters: Susan (Mike) Kasperski of Lemont, IL. and Julie (Ed) Shea of Oswego, IL.
Sixteen Grandchildren: Casey, Amanda, Alex, Nick, Rachel, Danielle, Allison, Ryan, Stefanie, Lauren, Brendan, Mike, Megan, Tyler, Logan, and Macey.
Five Great-Grandchildren.
One Brother: Gary (Merrel) Schmoeger of Flowermound, TX.
One Sister: Diane (Don) Mckeel of Sterling, IL.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
