Obituary for Robert Waszkowiak
Robert W. Waszkowiak, 88, of Peru, passed away Friday, December 28th, 2012 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria. Funeral mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 3,2013 in St. Hyacinth's church in La Salle. Rev. William Garner officiating. Burial will be in St. Hyacinth's cemetery. Visitation be on Wednesday, January 2nd from 4:00 - 7:00 pm in Burgess Funeral Home in La Salle. The scripture service will be at 6:30 pm. Visitation will also be on Thursday from 9:00-10:00 am in St. Hyacinth's Church. Robert (Bob) was born in La Salle, IL on April 6, 1924 to Joseph and Gertrude (Blocki) Waszkowiak. He married Dolores Konieczny on November 26, 1949 in St. Hyacinth's Church. He served in the US Navy during WWII. He worked at Westclox in the Quality Control Dept for many years. He also worked at Carus Chemical in the lab for several years. He was a member of St. Valentine's Church, Quarter Century Club, and Eagles Parish Family Circle. Survivors includes his wife Dolores of Peru, nieces, Sue (Ed) Kuhn, Lori (Neil) Farneti, Sarada and Brynja Farneti, nephews Rick (Sue) Konieczny and Chris Kuhn and also a special friend, Steve Neff. He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers and 1 sister. Memorials may be directed to the family's wishes. Full military services will be conducted by the LaSalle/Oglesby Veterans Memorial Group
