Obituary for Robert H. Waters
Robert H. Waters, 87, of LaSalle and Marco Island FL, passed away peacefully with his family at his side on December 20, at his residence in LaSalle. Cremation rites have been accorded. A memorial mass will take place on Thursday December 28 at Noon, at St. Hyacinth Church. Reverend Paul Carlson, Pastor of Holy Family Catholic Church in Oglesby, will conduct the service. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Utica. A memorial visitation will be in the church on Thursday from 10 to Noon, directly followed by mass. The Burgess Funeral Home in LaSalle is handling the arrangements.
He was born on July 19, 1936 to Harold “Whitey” and Marie (Manley) Waters of Utica.
On March 2nd, 1957, he married his best friend and the love of his life, Imogene Spayer at St. Hyacinth Church.
For several years he was the President of the United Food and Commercial Workers union, Local 100, in Chicago.
He was a member of St. Hyacinth Church. He enjoyed spending his time hunting and fishing. He cherished his time with family and friends. He and Imogene created many wonderful memories living in both Illinois and Florida over the years.
He is survived by: his wife of sixty six years, one daughter; Marianne Waters of Fairfield, CA. his grandson; Zachary Waters of Fairfield, CA. and his nieces and nephews
He is preceded in death by: his parents, two sons; Michael and Robert, daughter in law Michelle, and two sisters: Sharon Myers, and Mary Lynn Waters.
