Obituary for Robert "Bob" Pyszka
Robert “Bob” Pyszka 73 of La Salle passed away peacefully September 5th, in his residence with his family at his side. A funeral mass will be held Tuesday September 10 at 11 AM in St. Hyacinth Church. Fr. Gregory Jarzombek of St. Bede Abby will officiate. Burial will follow in St. Hyacinth Cemetery. Visitation will be in the church on Tuesday from 9 AM until the time of services. The Burgess Funeral Home in La Salle is handling the arrangements.
On January 28, 1946 Bob was born in St. Mary’s Hospital in La Salle to Henry and Hattie (Andrzejewski) Pyszka of LaSalle.
He married Marilyn Lee Pattelli on November 11, 1967 in Holy Rosary Church in LaSalle.
Bob graduated from St. Bede Academy in 1964. He received an Associate’s Degree from LPO Community College (IVCC) and was an employee of the Illinois Department of Employment Security for over 30 years until his retirement.
He was a member of St. Hyacinth Parish and a former member of Holy Rosary Parish both in LaSalle.
Bob lived a full and active life with his family and friends. Bob loved to spend time outdoors – he could often be found working in his garden & koi pond and walking at Baker Lake. Bob loved sports and was an avid softball player in his younger days. He was particularly proud of coaching his sons’ baseball & basketball teams. Bob followed the local/area sports teams closely, especially St. Bede, White Sox and Notre Dame.
He is survived by;
His wife Marilyn
2 Sons: Michael (Joy) Pyszka of Algonquin, IL and Matthew (Tahira) Pyszka of Murfreesboro, TN.
5 Grandchildren: Caden, Chase, Paige, Isabella and Ava Pyszka
1 Brother: Ronald (Gloria) Pyszka of Palo Alto, Ca.
Several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family for Bob’s favorite charities.
