Obituary for Robert "Bob" Chasteen
Robert “Bob” Chasteen 72 of LaSalle formally of La Moille IL. Passed away December 3 at 11: 23 AM in the Veteran’s Home in LaSalle. Visitation will be Friday December 6 in the Burgess Funeral Home in LaSalle from 10 AM until Noon. Burial will follow in St. Vincent Cemetery. Full military honors will be conducted by the LaSalle / Oglesby Veteran’s Memorial Group.
He was born on March 4, 1947 to Kenneth and Cleona Chasteen.
He was honored to serve his country through the Marines during the Vietnam War.
He married Agnes Hopper on March 24, 1979 in Wyanet.
For over 30 years he was an over the road truck driver. He drove for several companies.
He belonged to the VFW Post #0553 in Chadwick, IL.
He cherished spending time with family and friends. He was an avid Chicago Bears Fan.
He is survived by: His wife
2 Daughters: Julie (Brandon) Carpenter of Annawan and Jodi Hopper of Peoria.
2 Sons: Justin Chasteen of Wyanet and Eric Chasteen.
2 Brothers: Edward (Diane) Chasteen of La Moille, and Richard Hale of Chicago.
2 Sister: Mary Jean Matthews of Marseilles and Roberta Baggs of Sparland.
7 Grandchildren
He is preceded in death by: his parents and 1 sister in infancy.
