Obituary for Rita Nowakowski
Rita Nowakowski 93 formally of Dalzell passed away peacefully on April 10 at 10:50 PM at the Kewanee Home Care in Kewanee. Cremation rites have been accorded. A private graveside service will be at a later date. The Burgess Funeral Home in LaSalle is handling the arrangements.
She was born October 26, 1927 in Chicago to Veronica Jozwiak.
She married Joseph Nowakowski on June 9, 1948 at St. Mary’s Cathedral in Peoria.
She was employed for over 30 years at Family Pride Dry Cleaners. She also worked at Shea Cleaners and One Hour Dry Cleaners. Her family and friends were her pride and joy. She had a green thumb when it came to gardening. She enjoyed singing, watching the birds and her cats.
She is survived by:
2 Sons: Bruce (Lori) Nowakowski of Princeton, and David Nowakowski.
5 grandchildren, and 3 great granddaughters.
She is preceded by husband (1986) and 1 sister (Elaine 2019)
