Rita L. Egan 97 peacefully earned her eternal reward on July 14, 2022. Preceded into heaven by her beloved husband of 54 years Harry A. Egan; daughter Susan Jane; grandson Michael; parents Tecla and Joseph Scholle; brother William Scholle and sister Marjorie Ennenbach.
Survived by five children Mary Rita (Angelo); Edward Joseph (Anne); Lois Jean (Thomas); Rose Mary; Joseph William (Teresa) Egan; seven grandchildren Shayna; Caitlin; Colleen; Megan (David); Daniel (Ashley); Patrick; Kathleen (Tyler); great-grandchildren Michaela, Cooper and Carson.
Rita was blessed to have had her life enriched by special loved ones Mary, Pete, Betty, Frank, Mike, Catherine and the Geoghan girls, along with so many friends, neighbors and loved ones in the faith community who meant the world to her. She always enjoyed going for breakfast after daily mass; loved her furry friends, marching bands, and musicals; loved sitting on her porch or in the yard that she called ‘a little piece of paradise’.
She worked at Westclox, down Peru, where she met her future sister-in-law Catherine Egan Dwornik. Harry and Rita married at St. Joseph (Resurrection) Church June 18, 1949, and moved to Joliet, Il, until returning to LaSalle in retirement.
Devoted parishioner of St. Hyacinths and Queen of the Holy Rosary Memorial Shrine
Rita had remarkable qualities including an attitude of gratitude; she always said she was blessed and lucky and that God has been good to her. She would say ‘Life is good; God is good; and worry is needless’. Rita lived her values of kindness, service, faith, and gratitude.
She will be missed dearly. When you think of her send up a Hail Mary. Love you, Mom!
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. Hyacinth or Queen of the Holy Rosary Parish in memory of Rita.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11, Saturday July 23 at Holy Rosary Church in La Salle. Fr. Tom Otto Pastor of LaSalle Catholic Parishes will officiate.
