Richard ' Rick' Smudzinski, 50, of La Salle, passed away at 7:21 PM, Tuesday, August 6th, 2013 at OSF - ST. FRANCIS MEDICAL CENTER, , IL.. Funeral Mass will be held at 12:00 PM on Saturday, August 10th, in St. Hyacinth Church with Rev. Antonio Dittmer officiating. Burial will be in St. Hyacinth's Cemetery Visitation will be on Saturday 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM in ST. HYACINTH'S CHURCH. Born in LaSalle, on March 20, 1963, to Edward and Audrey (Jasiek) Smudzinski. Graduated from St. Hyacinth Grade School and St Bede Academy where he participated in numerous sports including baseball and basketball. Rick also received his automotive technician certificate from IVCC. He coached Little League in LaSalle for several years Was a Mechanic at various area places Survivors Mother Audrey of LaSalle 2 Sons Nicholas and Eric Smudzinski of Peru. 1 Sister, Mary Beth (David) Potthoff of Peru Niece Kelly Potthoff and Nephew Tyler Potthoff Preceded in death by Father in 2011 and Sister Susan in 2007 Memorial may be directed to the family for an Education fund to be set up for his sons.
