Richard “Rich” Rynke 86 passed away peacefully on February 28th at 1:33PM at OSF St. Anthony Medical Center in Rockford. Per his wishes cremation rites have been accorded. A funeral mass will be Monday March 10th at 11 in St. Hyacinth Church LaSalle. The Very Reverend J.A. Small Parochial Victor of LaSalle Catholic Parishes will officiate. Burial will follow at St. Valentine Cemetery in Spring Valley, with full military honors conducted by the Peru Veterans Memorial Group. A memorial visitation will be in the church on Monday from 9:30 until the time of services.
Rich was born on October 2, 1938 at People’s Hospital in Peru to Frank and Mary (Blazewski) Rynke.
He was very proud of serving his country from 1957 to 1967 in the Navy, 2nd class.
He married his best friend and the love of his life Maxine Flowers on December 20, 1969 in St. Valentine Church, Peru.
For twenty-nine years he was employed by the State of Illinois as a Financial Consultant. He retired in 2000.
He was member of St. Hyacinth Parish. He was a member of the Catholic War Veterans of LaSalle in which he served as Commander for twenty-seven years. For three years he was the treasurer. He was a member of the American Legion in LaSalle. Both organizations and its members meant a great deal to him. He adored and loved his family and friends. He cherished anytime he could spend with them.
He is survived by his wife of fifty-five years.
His son Scott Rynke of LaSalle, and his daughter Beth (Rynke) Mack of Yorkville, IL.
Three Grandchildren; Kyle and Brenden Mack, and Kylie Cofoid.
One brother; Ron (Jolene) Rynke of Peru. One sister-in law; Kathy Rynke of Atwood, Il.
Several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by; his parents and his brother; Roderick “Rick” Rynke
