Richard “Dick” Johnson 87 of Utica, passed away peacefully with his family at his side on March 28 at Allure Healthcare in Peru. Cremation rites have been accorded. A memorial mass will be Thursday April 4th at 11, at St. Mary’s Church in Utica. Fr. Gregory Jarzombek of St. Bede Abbey will officiate. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Utica. A memorial visitation will be Thursday in the church from 9 until the time of services. The Burgess Funeral Homes of LaSalle is handling the arrangements.
Dick was born on May 21, 1936 in Ottawa Hospital, in Ottawa to George and Lillian (Crear) Johnson.
He married the love of his life and best friend Sharon Panneck on January 24, 1959 at St. Mary’s Church in Utica.
For over thirty years he was employed by Libby Owens in Ottawa as a glass worker until his retirement.
He was a member of St. Mary’s Church in Utica. He was a fourth degree with the Knights of Columbus Father Marquette Council 1775. He served his community as a volunteer fireman for over thirty years. For over thirty years he displayed his talent as a taxidermist. He had a passion for the outdoors, with the sports of hunting and fishing. He loved being with family and friends.
He is survived by his wife (Sharon) of sixty five years.

two daughters: Lori Ulanowski of LaSalle, and Jill (Greg) Guthrie of LaSalle.
five grandchildren: Dustin, Baylee, Nolan, Marissa, and Cassi.
two great-grandchildren: Luc and Noah.
one brother: Kenneth (Mary) Johnson of Chillicothe.
several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by: his parents, one son-in law; Tom Ulanowski, his siblings; George, Dede, Janet, Gary, Robert, and James.
