Obituary for Raymond Allen Jurkas
Raymond Allen Jurkas 80 of Peru passed away December 12 at 3:46 AM at St. Margaret’s Hospital in Spring Valley. Per his wishes cremation rites have been accorded, and there will be no services. The Burgess Funeral Home in la Salle is assisting the family.
He was born on November 19, 1941 in La Salle to Joseph and Victoria (Margherio) Jurkas.
On August 24, 1963 he married Janice Marie Znaniecki.
He was employed by Huntsman Chemical in Peru for over 35 years.
Throughout the years he was an avid long-distance runner. Mushroom hunting was one of his most relaxing times.
He is survived by:
1 Son: Scott Jurkas of Peru.
1 daughter: Sherry Jurkas of La Salle
1 Grandson: Matthew
1 Brother: Joseph of La Salle.
Nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by: his wife, his parents, and 2 brothers: Ken and Jim Jurkas.
