Obituary for Raymond V. Samolinski

Raymond V. Samolinski 88 of La Salle passed away Saturday Feb 17 at 6:02AM in Manor Court in Peru. A funeral mass will be Thursday Feb 22 at 11 in St. Hyacinth Church. Reverend Jacob Valle Parochial Vicar of La Salle Catholic Churches will officiate. Burial will follow in St. Hyacinth Cemetery. Visitation will be in the church from 10 until the time of services. The Burgess Funeral Home in La Salle is handling the arrangements.
He was born in La Salle on May 15, 1929 to John and Anna (Nieznelski) Samolinski.
He was employed by Westclox for over 25 years, and was a member of St. Hyacinth Church., and a life time member of St. Stephen’s Society.
He is survived by: A brother, Lawrence Samlin of La Salle, a sister in-law Marge Samolinski, of Oglesby, several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and a great -great nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by: his parents, 7 brothers, 2 sisters, 3 half-brothers and 1 half-sister.

Raymond had a great sense of humor and love for his polka music. He was an avid Cub fan. In the past he enjoyed going on fishing trips. His greatest love was for his family. For many of years he cared for his mother and his sister Helen. He was the family’s historian. His recollection of family events and dates were remarkable. He will be dearly missed by all.
