Obituary for Patricia Ann Kurtz
Patricia Ann Kurtz 81 of LaSalle passed away unexpectedly on Friday October 10th at her residence. A Scripture Service will be Thursday October 16th at 7:00PM in the Burgess Funeral Home in Lasalle. The Very Reverend Tom Otto, Pastor of Saint John Baptist de LaSalle Parish and Rector of Holy Rosary Shrine. Cremation rites will be accorded afterwards. She will be laid to rest with her husband (Jim) at a private family burial at a later date. Visitation will be in the Funeral Home on Thursday from 5:00PM to the time of services.
She was born on August 2, 1944 at St. Mary’s Hospital in LaSalle, to Edward and Josephine (Kopacz) Wachowiak.
She married her best friend, and the love of her life, Jim Kurtz on September 19, 1964 at St. Hyacinth Church in LaSalle.
For several years she was a self-employed as a beautician. Her most rewarding time was being a wife, mother, and grandmother.
She was a member of St. Hyacinth Church. She belonged to the Craft Club. Her and Jim belonged to the Hog Chapter in Princeton, where they enjoyed riding with the members, and did line dancing together. She was her son’s number one fan in anything they were involved in. That led to being her grandchildren’s biggest fan. She was known as Grandma Pat by all their friends. She attended all their extracurricular activities. Pat enjoyed playing Cand Crush, watching the Hallmark channel, and Pepsi. She was a Swift /Kelce fan of the Kanas City Chiefs. She enjoyed cheering them on. Pat liked to play slots at the Casino with her friends, and grandkids and eating crab at the buffet. She loved to go camping and fishing with her grandkids. She mostly treasured being around her family and friends, especially the grandchildren. She would bake, sew, and craft anything they needed. She cherished having her four-legged friend (Misty) around the house. She enjoyed time on the porch with her neighbors Sandy and Bob.
She is survived by:
two sons; Jerry (Sherrie) Kurtz of LaSalle, and Jeff (Gina) Kurtz of Metamora, IL.
Her five grandchildren: Sophie, and Reese (Lindsey) Kurtz, of Utica, and Olivia, Tanner (Audrey), and Kevin Kurtz of Metamora, IL.
She is preceded in death by: her parents, and her husband Jim of forty-one years (2006)
