Nancy J. Bejster 89 of Granville and formally of LaSalle, with family at her side she passed away peacefully on February 13th at Liberty Village in Princeton. Per her wishes cremation rites have been accorded. A private family burial will be at a later date.
Nancy was born in LaSalle, on January 5, 1937 to John and Gertrude (Bernard) Housby. She married the love of her life, and best friend; Gerald (Jerry) Bejster on July 14, 1956 at St. Patrick Church in LaSalle. They shared a magical and fulfilling life together for sixty-seven, until Gerry’s passing on February 12, 2024.
She adored being a full-time wife, mom, and grandma. and throughout that time, she was employed by Electric Utilities, Go-Dan Industries, and part time at Subway. She loved to play bingo, and go to the Senior Center in Standard, IL. She was a member of St. Hyacinth Church. Going on little road trips to Bloomingdale, and LaGrange Ohio. She had a great joy in supporting her children in whatever activities they were involved in. Later on, her joy turned to watching her grandchildren grow and supporting them in whatever they did. Now it was watching her great-grandchildren being old enough to be involved in softball, t-ball, volleyball, gymnastics, football, basketball, and any school activities.
She is survived by three daughters; Jo Lynn (Jay) Gabrielse of Peru, Gerrie Lynn (Bill) Skowronski of Hennepin, and Theresa Phelps of Granville. Two sons; Mike Bejster of Utica, and Tony (Kristy) Bejster of Peru. eight grandchildren; Ashley (Ryan) Vance, Bradley (Danielle) Skowronski, Sandra Danielle Bejster, Sam Bejster, Kirstin (Josh) Rogers, Tanner Phelps, Ben Bejster, and Madie Bejster. five great-grandchildren; Riley, Sailor, and Murphy Rogers, Peyton and James Vance. One sister; Sandra (Kenny) Bland of Cherry. Several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by; her husband Gerry, her parents, seven sisters; Margaret Ewing, Thelma Conrad, Gertrude Garncarz, Hazel Conrad, Ella Davis, Jacqueline Boyd, and Melva Dilling. four brothers; John, Edward, James, and Robert Housby. Two infant siblings.
