Michael Koenig 67 of Oglesby, formerly of LaSalle and Bloomington passed away peacefully at his residence on July 16th. Per his wishes cremation rites have been accorded. There will be private family services for him. The Burgess Funeral Homes in LaSalle is assisting the family.
He was born at St. Mary’s Hospital in LaSalle to John W. and Adele (Sobkowiak) Koenig.
For many years he was President of Freedom Oil and later Koenig Oil in Bloomington, IL. He later owned and operated Harley Erectors of Chenoa, IL.
Mike was first and utmost a loving father, brother, and uncle to his family. He cherished all friendships he acquired through out his life. Everyone who met him had a story. He always extended a hand to help family and friends. From childhood on he was a loyal Bears fan.
He is survived by: his daughter: Kayla Koenig, and his son; John Koenig both of Chicago. Two sisters: Mary Ann (Michael) Boehm of Peru, and Nancy (Jeff) Roop of Normal. Many loving nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by; his parents, and two sisters; Jane Crowe (2020), and Carol Wren (2019)
