Michael “Bruzer” Bruski, 69, of Peru, lost his courageous battle with Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML) on February 20th at St. Margaret’s Hospital Spring Valley. A memorial visitation will take place on Saturday, March 4th from 9am – 11:30am at the Burgess Funeral Home in La Salle. A Celebration of life ceremony will follow at 11:30am and burial will be at the Peru City Cemetery.
He was born on December 29, 1953, at St. Mary’s Hospital in La Salle to Thomas J. and Mildred (Thompson) Bruski. Growing up he was involved as a baseball coach and enjoyed playing softball with his buddies.
For forty years he was an employee of Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad as a foreman.
He was a music lover throughout his life. He had a passion for being outdoors; hunting, playing golf, and working in his garden. He cherished spending time on his patio with his family and friends.
He was a member of St. Mary’s Church in Peru and the Knights of Columbus.
He is survived by:
Two Daughters: Amie (Gil) Valenzuela of Tonica, and Cara (Brian Mulé) Bruski of Winfield, IL.
One Brother: Thomas Bruski of Peru
Two Granddaughters: Abby and Molly Valenzuela
Two Nieces: Jenna and Kaylee Bruski
He is preceded by: His dad in (2011) and his mom in (2022)
