Obituary for Mary Margaret Pawlak
Mary Margaret Pawlak 77 of Utica, passed away peacefully with family at her side on May 23 at OSF St. Francis Healthcare in Peoria. A Scripture service will be Wednesday May 31 at 7 at the Burgess Funeral Home in LaSalle. Very Reverend Paul Carlson pastor of Holy Family Church in Oglesby will officiate. Cremation rites will follow the service. A visitation will be Wednesday in the funeral home from 4 to 7.
Mary was born on May 23, 1946 to Joseph and Mary (Carey) Morrissey.
She married the love of her life and best friend Ronald “RP” Pawlak on March 16, 1974 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Utica. It lasted forty seven until he passed in 2021.
She owned and operated a Hair Salon in Utica for several years. She was employed by Joy and Ed’s for sixty four years. Between working and taking care of her family, for over thirty years she served the City of Utica as an elected Trustee. She cherished and loved spending time with her family, friends, and especially the grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by:
One Daughter: Bonnie (Richard) Hartman of LaSalle.
Two Sons: Donald Pawlak of Utica, and Peter (Jody) Pawlak of Utica.
Seven Grandchildren: Corey, Marissa, Autumn, Maria, Payton, Gabriel, and Grayson
Four Great Grandchildren: August, Marianna, Ryder, and Lili.
All the friends she made throughout her life.
She is preceded in death by: her parents, and husband in 2021
