Obituary for Mary Colmone
Mary Colmone 101 of Peru passed away Sunday September 10 at 10:57AM in Heritage Manor in Peru with her family at her side. A funeral mass for Mary will be Wednesday September 13 at 11 in St. Joseph’s Church in Peru. Father Jacob Rose Pastor of Peru Catholic Parishes will officiate. Burial will follow in St. Vincent Cemetery in La Salle. Visitation will be Tuesday from 4 to 7 with a rosary recited at 3:45 in the Burgess Funeral Home in La Salle. Additional visitation will be Wednesday in the church from 10 until the time of services. The Burgess Funeral Home in La Salle is handling the arrangements.
She was born on October 5, 1915 in Waukegan Illinois to Salvatore and Gracia (Adornetto) DeLuca.
She married John Colmone Sr. on June 1, 1946 in Holy Rosary Church in La Salle.
She and her husband owned and operated John’s Place in Peru where she cooked for 37 years. Throughout the years her number one priority was caring for her family.
She belonged to St. Joseph’s Church in Peru and the Altar and Rosary Society of St. Joseph’s Church.
She is survived by;
1 Son: John (Vickie) Colmone Jr. of Peru
3 Daughters: Connie (Lou) Baker of Girard IL, Grace (David) Sorrentino of Springfield IL and Julie (Terry) Scheri of spring Valley, IL
1 Sister: Nina Turner of West Palm Beach Florida.
7 Grandchildren, 12 Great Grandchildren and, many nieces and nephews
She is preceded in death by her: husband in 1983, 2 brothers, and 2 sisters.
