Mark Duane Majewski passed away on February 4. Following Mark’s wishes, cremation was accorded, and he wished no services. Mark was born to Ruth (Grabow) and Stanley Majewski on January 7, 1957, in Peru.
Surviving are his sisters, Lucille (Lu) Gardner (E. Joseph) of Springfield, Illinois, Laurie Wittmer (David) of Morton Illinois, niece Andrea (Gardner) Jensen (Brian) of Athens, Illinois. He was preceded in death by his mother, father, and brother Dave.
Mark was a 1975 graduate of LaSalle Peru High School. He attended IVCC and then Illinois State University, where he majored in theater appearing in several plays earning a B.S. in theater. Mark was active in community theater, moving to Chicago in the 1980s, pursuing acting at Body Politic Theater. While in Chicago he was a carpenter building sets for international catalogs and magazines for commercial photography and sets for theaters, including Steppenwolf. Upon returning to Peru, he continued carpentry work.
Mark enjoyed gardening throughout his life, and acting was a passion. Mark was a very creative person.
