Obituary for Margaret (Marge) La Costa
Margaret (Marge) La Costa 79 of La Salle passed away Friday July 17 at 10:20PM in Illinois Valley Community Hospital in Peru. A funeral mass will be held Wednesday July 22 at noon in St. Hyacinth Church in LaSalle. The Very Reverend Antonio Dittmer Pastor of La Salle Catholic Churches will officiate. Burial will follow in St. Hyacinth Cemetery in LaSalle. Visitation will be Wednesday July 22 in the Burgess Funeral Home in La Salle from 9 until the time of services.
She was born on October 14, 1935 in La Salle to Frank and Sophie (Kopytkiewicz) Ratajczak.
She married Nicholas (Nick) La Costa on June 20, 1959 in St. Hyacinth Church in La Salle.
She worked for over 15 years at St. Mary’s Hospital La Salle, in the Office. She worked for over 25 years for St. Hyacinth Church in La Salle handling all clerical and bookkeeping duties.
She was a parishioner of St. Hyacinth Church, a member of St. Hyacinth Altar and Rosary; she belonged to the “Northern Illinois Region” WPC Car Club, served as secretary for St. Hyacinth Parish Council for several years, and was a team leader for St. Hyacinth Church Bingo for many of years. With her husband and traveling with the car club, to be working with her flowers, her finest hours were being with her family and friends, and most of all having her grandchildren in her life.
She is survived by; husband (Nick)
1 Son: Scott La Costa of La Fayette Co.
1 daughter: Tammy (Gerald Jr.) Bacidore of La Salle
3 grandchildren: Abigail, Vika, and Gunner
1 brother-in-law: Henry Konieczny of Peru
She is preceded in death by her parents and 1 sister Theresa in 1992
