Lucille Korosec 95 of La Salle passed away peacefully on Wednesday May 20th at Allure Healthcare in Peru. A funeral mass will be Tuesday May 26 at 10:30 in St. Hyacinth Church. Fr. Gregory Jarzombek O.S.B. of St. Bede Abbey will officiate. Burial will follow at St. Hyacinth Cemetery, where she will be laid to rest next to her husband, and son. Visitation will be in the church on Tuesday from 9:30 to 10:30.
She was born on February 3, 1931 to Vincent and Helen (Ratajczak) Samolinski at St. Mary’s Hospital in La Salle.
She married the love of her life and best friend Frank Korosec on September 23, 1950 at St. Hyacinth Church. They were married for sixty-eight years, until Frank passed away in 2018. Through out their time together they had four wonderful children (Debbie, Dennis, David, and Donna) in which the family had variety of special moments. Their darkest hour came when their sixteen-year-old son (Dennis) passed away in 1975 from a medical issue.
Lucille was a life time member of St. Hyacinth Church. She loved being a homemaker, relishing the titles of a wife, mom, and grandmother. She adored spending time with her family, relatives, and friends. She loved hosting the holiday dinners. She was a member of the Chopper’s Club. She enjoyed watching and cheering on the Chicago White Sox, Chicago Bears, and the Fighting Illini. She enjoyed going with family and friends to the River Boats, or Las Vegas. No matter the outcome she enjoyed herself.
She is survived by: her son; David of Freeport, IL., two daughters; Debbie (Donald) Vegovisch pf Dolton IL. And Donna Burke of Palatine, IL. Three grandchildren; Keaton (Karina) Korosec, Korey Korosec, and Katie Burke. One great-grandchild; Luca. Many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by; her parents, her husband (Frank 2018), her son (Dennis 1975), one brother (Anthony “Bob” Samolinski), and one sister; (Theresa Morse.)
In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society or the March of Dimes would be greatly appreciated.
