Obituary for Louis R. Patyk

Louis R. Patyk 87 of LaSalle, passed away unexpectedly at his residence on August 12th. A funeral mass will be Friday, August 16th at 11am at St. Hyacinth Church. The Very Reverend Paul Carlson, Pastor of Holy Family Parish in Oglesby will officiate. Burial will follow with military rites conducted by the LaSalle / Oglesby Veterans Memorial Group at St. Hyacinth Cemetery. Visitation will be in the church on Friday from 9:30 am until the time of the services. The Burgess Funeral Home in LaSalle is handling the arrangements.

Louis was born on October 14, 1936 at St. Mary’s Hospital in LaSalle to Louis J. and Stella (Borostowski) Patyk.

He served his country through the branch of the Air Force.

He married Janeen Cattani on September 20, 1991 at the LaSalle County Court House in Ottawa.

For over fifty years he was employed by the Sheet Metal Workers Union, working in several locations.

He was a member of St. Hyacinth Church. Through out the years he served on various boards either with the school, or the church. He loved the outdoors and found pleasure in working in his garden and with his flowers. He enjoyed spending time fishing. He had a talent in doing carpentry and wood work. He mostly cherish spending time with family and friends. Each and everyone of them meant so much to him.

He is survived by:

Two Sons; Pete (Maribeth) Patyk of Peru, and Louis (Cathy) Patyk of Skokie, IL.

One daughter: Jessica (Bill) Kurtz of Galesburg, IL.

Seven Grandchildren; Ashley (Grant), Keegan, Colton (Caitlyn) Carly, Caitlyn, Alison, and Henry.

One Sister: Barbara Gredzieleski of LaSalle.

He is preceded in death by: his wife (Janeen) November 2, 1997

In lieu of flowers memorials may directed to the family for his favorite charities.
