Obituary for Louis G. "Buddy" Amsberg
Louis G. “Buddy” Amsberg 89 formally of Oglesby passed away July 14th at LaSalle County Nursing Home in Ottawa. Per his wishes cremation rites have been accorded. A memorial mass will be Saturday July 22, at 10 at St. Hyacinth Church. The Very Reverend Paul Carlson, Pastor of Holy Family Parish in Oglesby will officiate. Burial will follow at St. Hyacinth Cemetery. Full military rites will be accorded by the LaSalle Oglesby Veterans Memorial Group. A memorial visitation will be in the church on Saturday from 9 until the time of services. The Burgess Funeral Home in LaSalle is handling the arrangements.
Buddy was born at St. Mary’s Hospital in LaSalle on June 21, 1934 to Louis W. and Clara (Michalski) Amsberg.
He served his country through the branch of the Army.
For over forty years he was employed by Sundstrand in Peru as a machinist.
He was a member of St. Hyacinth Church, and a member of the Catholic War Veterans in LaSalle. Being around family and friends brought him great joy.
He is survived by:
One Sister: Clara Gedraitis of LaSalle.
Several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces, and nephews.
He is preceded in death by: his parents,
one Sister: Shirley Harlow (2006), one great nephew: Christopher Gedraitis (2020), one great niece: Alicia Gedraitis (1995).
