Obituary for Larkin Beavers
Larkin Beavers 84 of Oglesby peacefully passed away with family at his side on May 14 in his residence. Per his wishes cremation rites will accorded. A Celebration of his Life will be at a later date. The Burgess Funeral Home in La Salle is assisting the family.
He was born on May 1, 1938 in Jerusalem Arkansas to Hoarse and Bertha May (Wilson) Beavers.
He served his country through the branch of the Army during the Korean War.
He married Joy Brooker on October 17, 1958 at the Baptist Church in Ottawa.
For over 50 years he was semi-truck operator, and drove for Paul Johnson Trucking and Schwerman Trucking.
He loved being around family and friends. He loved the outdoors, especially the “Men’s camping trip” along with fishing and gardening.
He is survived by:
3 Daughters: Jodi Beavers of Oglesby, Codi (Clayton) Grim of Leonore, and Marybeth (John) Hoffman of La Salle.
1 Son: Jeff (Alyssia) Beavers of Dalzell.
12 grandchildren: Dusty, Dallas, Travis, Tierney, Cheyenne, Fred, Destiny, Harmony, Josey, Jade, Brianna, and Savanna.
21 Great-Grandchildren.
May nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by: his wife (Joy) of 57 years in 2015,
3 Brothers: Boyce, Royce, and Billy.
3 Sisters: Edith, Wanetta, and Venita.
