Obituary for Katherine "Kay" Comerouski
Katherine “Kay” Comerouski 95 of LaSalle died December 8 at 8:21 AM at Heritage Health in Peru. A funeral mass will be Monday December 16 at 12:30 PM in St. Hyacinth Church in LaSalle. Fr. Gregory Jarzombek O.S.B. of St. Bede Abbey will officiate. Burial will follow at Valley Memorial Park in Spring Valley. Visitation will be in the church on Monday from 11 AM until the time of services. The Burgess Funeral Home in LaSalle is handling the arrangements.
She was born on May 6, 1924 in Cherry Illinois to Thomas and Ellen (Linden) Ghigliei.
She married John J. Comerouski on October 6, 1945 at Holy Trinity Church in Cherry, IL.
She was a home maker, was employed by Westclox, and the business manager for her husband’s Band “The Dixie Cats.
She was a member St. Hyacinth Church. She was a member of the St. Hyacinth Altar and Rosary Society. She was member of the LaSalle Moose Lodge.
Kay had a love of life and people. She was authentically gracious and friendly. She enjoyed her family, especially the grandchildren. She was an avid Cubs fan. She enjoyed traveling, and seen such places as Mexico, Nashville, Branson, and especially Hawaii to be present at her granddaughter’s wedding. She loved visiting the grandchildren, and going to the Lake House in Michigan where several memories were made with her family over the years. She also loved reading and shopping. She appreciated the compassionate care she received for Pat her Hospice Nurse, Lori the Director, Nurses, CNA’s and the entire staff at Heritage Health in Peru.
She is survived by:
1Daughter: Christine (Jack) Brown of LaSalle
1 Son: John (Christel) Comerouski of Itasca IL
6 Grandchildren, 2 Great Grandchildren, and 2 Nieces.
She is preceded in death by: Her husband (2012) and a brother (Vernon)
