Obituary for Julie Ann Pinn
Julie Ann (Stoetzel) Pinn 59 of LaSalle went home to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ after a battle with cancer December 17 at 9:25 AM in her residence. Cremation rites have been accorded. A memorial mass will be Friday December 21 at 11:00 AM in St. Valentine’s Church in Peru. Monsignor Richard Soseman Pastor of Peru Catholic Churches will officiate. Burial will follow at St. Vincent Cemetery. A memorial visitation will be in the church Friday from 9:00 AM until the time of services. The Burgess Funeral Home in LaSalle is handling the arrangements.
She was born on July 17, 1959 in St. Mary’s Hospital in LaSalle to Clarence and Pauline (Kedzieski) Stoetzel. She received an Associate Degree from IVCC. In 1981 she married Michael Pinn in St. Valentine’s Church.
Her employment consisted of being a CNA at Heritage Manor in Peru for 10 years. A Special Education Teacher’s Aide at Utica Elementary School for 8 years. A Swimming Instructor at the YMCA in Peru for 10 years. For over 35 years she owned and operated Sun Spirits Goldens in LaSalle, in which she offered training and pet services. She was an avid gardener with her green thumb.
She had a great compassion for animals and the outdoors. She competed in several obedience and field trials with her golden retrievers with winning many awards. She was an advocate in rescuing and fostering dogs for IVAR. She trained several dogs to comfort people through trying times. She would conduct classes not just for dogs themselves, but their owners as well. She was a member of the Starved Rock Kennel Club. Her constant work was for the betterment of the golden retriever breed.
She is survived by: 2 Sisters: Paulette (Robert) Myhre of Maplegrove Mn. And Carol Zellmer of Peru. 1 Nephew: Sean R. Myhre, and by all her special 4-legged friends.
Preceded in death by: her parents, 1 brother (Mark Allen), paternal and maternal grandparents, aunts and uncles.
