Obituary for Joseph Keenan
Joseph Keenan 90 of Oglesby passed away Feb 16 at 8:20AM in Country Comfort Retirement Home in Henry IL. A funeral mass will be Tuesday Feb 20 at 11 in Holy Family Church in Oglesby. Burial will follow in St. Vincent’s Cemetery in La Salle. A flag folding ceremony will be conducted by the LaSalle/ Oglesby Veterans Memorial Group. Visitation will be in the church on Tuesday from 9:30 until the time of services. The Burgess Funeral Home in la Salle is handling the arrangements.
He was born in La Salle on October 3, 1927 to James and Mary Keenan.
He served his country through the branch of the Army before the Korean War.
He married Colleen Moneghan on February 7, 1959 in St. Mary’s Church of Utica.
He worked several years in Oglesby for Marquette Cement, later known as Lone Star, and currently Buzzi as a mechanic.
He was a member of Holy Family Church in Oglesby, The Elks Lodge in Oglesby # 2360, and the American Legion Post 237.
He is survived by: 1 Son: Mike (Lisa) Keenan of Granville,
1 Daughter: Toni Manning of Spring Valley.
1 Sister: Loretta Walker of Mendota.
6 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his wife (1999), 1 brother and 1 sister.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the family for his favorite charities.
