Obituary for Jon Scott Hancock
Jon Scott Hancock 63, of La Salle died unexpectedly at his home on February 13, 2021, from Covid-19. He was born on October 16, 1957, in La Salle to Verne and Colleen (Carbine) Siemers. His mother later married Warren "Cotton" Hancock, who adopted Scott. He grew up in Oglesby and attended Oglesby Schools. Scott graduated from LP in 1975. Although he had other jobs, cars and body work were his true passion. At a young age he started sanding cars at a local body shop and he later worked for La Salle Body and Fender for 37 years.

Scott married the love of his life, Chrystal Pohar, on August 16, 1997, in La Salle. The both enjoyed their camper at Woodhaven Lakes, cruising around on their Harleys and they especially loved their dogs.

He also enjoyed spending time with family and friends, was known to have a sweet tooth, and was never afraid to share his opinion. Scottie insisted on having a well kept lawn, extra clean vehicles, and was always up for a few cheap laughs.

He is survived by his wife of nearly 24 years, Chrystal Hancock of La Salle, his father Verne Siemers of Oglesby, a daughter, Elizabeth "Beth" Isaacson of Princeton, and a son Brian (Holly Siegel) Hancock of California. Also surviving are granddaughters, Marcella and Hadley Isaacson of Princeton, sisters, Rhonda (Greg) Schmidt of Peru, Shelly (Rich) Greening of Oglesby, and a brother Troy (Noelle Sauter) Siemers of Tonica. Surviving as well are brothers-in-law Brian (Jennifer) Pohar of Missouri, Bob (Lynne) Pohar of La Salle, and sister-in-law Stacey Pohar of La Salle. Also surviving is his Mother-in-law Chris Pohar of La Salle, as well as nephews Jonathan and Carson Siemers, Andrew, Bobby and Ethan Pohar, Dylan (Jenna) Pohar, and a niece Breeana Pohar. Scottie is also survived by many extended family and friends, and by his two best chums, his dogs, Cutie (Coochie) Pie and Chloe, who miss him and his treats very much.

Scott was preceded in death by his mother and stepfather Colleen and Cotton Hancock, his in-laws Bob Pohar, and Betty and George Diedrick, and step-mother Donna Siemers. Maternal and Paternal Grandparents.

Memorial Visitation to celebrate Scott's life will be Sunday, May 2, 2021, from 12-3 pm at Burgess Funeral Home in La Salle. (Mask are required and social distancing should be practiced.) Inurnment will be private and at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, please direct memorials to the family for charitable disbursement.
