Obituary for John "Jack" Edgcomb
John “Jack” Edgcomb 88 of LaSalle passed away surrounded by his wife and children on Sept. 20, at 7:00AM in his residence. Cremation rites have been accorded. A memorial mass will be Saturday Sept. 28 at 11 AM in St. Hyacinth Church. Rev. Thomas Otto, Parochial Vicar of LaSalle Catholic Parishes will officiate. Burial will be at a later date. Memorial visitation will be in the church from 9 AM until the time of services. The Burgess Funeral Home in LaSalle is handling the arrangements
Jack was born on May 7, 1931 in Dimmick Il., to Thomas and Frances (Supan) Edgcomb.
He served in the military as a Marine. He was a proud Marine veteran.
He married Patricia “Patty” Andrews on January 14, 1956 in St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Utica. He farmed for years. He was an operating engineer and worked for several business. He was a member of St. Hyacinth Church and formally of St. Mary’s Church in Utica. He was a member of the Peru Eagles, and the Tri City Saddle Club.
He is survived by: his wife Patty of 63 years.
1 Son: Tom (Lois) Edgcomb of Peru.
3 Daughters: Susan (Tom) Marshall of Oglesby, Laurie (Galen) Eich of Troy Grove, and Julie (Mike) Burkardt West Brooklyn IL.
10 Grandchildren: Elizabeth and Matt Edgcomb, Teala Ward, Jacqui Kramer, Brittany Mellott, Adam and Jeremy Eich, Ashley Loomis, Holly Mathieu, and Cassidy Pauly.
20 Great Grandchildren
1 Brother: Gary (Karen) Edgcomb of LaSalle.
3 Sisters: Shirley (Jerry) Soens of LaSalle, Linda (Jerry) Leslie of Earlville, and Diane Andersen of Standard Il. Many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by: His parents, 4 daughters: Jackie Kay 1958, Mary Denise 1959, Pamela Sue 1963, Patty Ann 1964, 7 brothers and 2 sisters.
In lieu of flowers memorials my be directed to the family for his favorite charities.
