Obituary for John J Comerouski
John J Comerouski 91 of LaSalle passed away Saturday at 4:10PM in Heritage Manor in LaSalle; Visitation will be Tuesday from 4 to 7 in the Burgess Funeral Home in LaSalle with additional visitation Wednesday 10AM until time of services in St. Hyacinth Church in LaSalle. A Funeral Mass will be at 11AM in St. Hyacinth Church with Very Reverend Antonio Dittmer officiating. Burial will follow in Valley Memorial Park in Spring Valley Illinois. He was born on May 4, 1921 to Joseph and Angelina (Pelligrini) Comerouski in Spring Valley, Illinois. He married Katherine (Kay) Ghiglieri on October 6, 1945 in Holy Trinity Church in Cherry, Illinois. He graduated from Bradley University in Peoria IL with a Master Degree in Music in which for his thesis he composed the St. Bede Academy Fight Song, graduated VanderCook College in Chicago, IL where he belonged to the PHI MU ALPHA Music Fraternity. He was a Music Educator for over 30 years in the LaSalle Public School System, Cherry Grade School, St. Bede Academy, and at his home. He was very proud of each of his students. He was the Membership Coordinator for IVAC and salesperson for Orkin. He was a member of St. Joseph’s Church in LaSalle until its closing, a member of St. Hyacinth Church and its Choir, past member of Holy Name Society of Resurrection Parish in LaSalle, a member of the Dixie Cats Band, The LaSalle Moose Lodge, Past President of LaSalle Minor and Little League, Coach in LaSalle Senior League Baseball, and was instrumental in getting lights for the field, coach The LaSalle Connie Mack baseball team, was the Co-Founder of Band –O- Rama, enjoyed time with the family along with fishing and playing a round of golf. He is survived by his wife, a son John (Christel) of Itasca, Illinois, a daughter Christine (Jack) Brown of LaSalle, 6 grandchildren, 2 great children, and nieces.
