Obituary for Joan Kulpa
Joan Kulpa 82 of Utica, formally of LaSalle passed away peacefully on February 17 at Aperion Nursing Home in Spring Valley. Per her wishes cremation rites have been accorded, and a private family burial next to her husband Jack will be later. The Burgess Funeral Home in LaSalle is assisting the family.
She was born at home on December 26, 1941 in Waltham Twp. To Lawrence and Marion (Christopherson) Klinefelter.
She married John “Jack” Kulpa on June 10, 1961 at St. Valentine Church in Peru.
Joan was a secretary for LaSalle Catholic Grade School for eighteen years.
She loved to travel, visiting her sister in New York for the CMA’s, the Emeril Show, and Jimmy Buffett, her son Mike in Japan, and all over the southern states. Her very favorite times were camping with her family and good friends. She was an extreme avid fan of the Chicago Cubs. Watching them win the world series was always a bucket list item for her.
She is survived by her children; Kathy Kleckner of Peru, Debby Kulpa of Normal, IL., Bob Kulpa of Pinellas Park, FL., and Mike Kulpa of Fort Branch, IN.
Her grandchildren; Chandra and Nick Kleckner, Adrianna, Sarah, and Bobby Kulpa.
Her sister; Bonnie Klinefelter of New York, NY.
She is preceded by; her husband Jack (2004), her parents, a daughter at birth, Lori Ann, grandson Alex Kulpa, her sister, Marilynn Setchell, and brother LaVern (Skip) Klinefelter.
