Obituary for Jim Jurkas
It is with great sadness that the family of Jim Jurkas announces his passing after a brief illness, On Thursday December 3 at the age of 72. Jim stayed strong until the very end.
Jim will be lovingly remembered by his daughter Shelly Jurkas and his grandson's Cody and Austin Jurkas all of Peru,Illinois. His legacy will forever live on through them. His long time partner Pam Tobiasz of LaSalle,Illinois,Jed and Althea Tobiasz of Princeton,Illinois,Oliver,Julian,and Everly Brown of Wilmette,Illinois.
At his request, there will be no services. The Burgess Funeral Home in LaSalle is assisting us.
Mr. Jurkas was born march 13, 1948 in LaSalle IL. To Joseph and Victoria Jurkas.
Jim could fix anything he put his mind to. In his earlier years he helped his brothers; Kenny and Joe run a body shop. Jim loved restoring and customizing old cars, and trucks on the side.
He was a long-time union laborer. He spent his finals years working for Len Trovero Construction until his retirement in 2014.
Jim was a family man and when he wasn’t working on something in his garage, he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren,and riding his Harley.
He is preceded in death by: His parents and 1 brother; Kenny in 2013.
