James S. Long 68 of LaSalle passed way unexpectedly Wednesday October 24 at 2:26PM in IVCH in Peru. Services will be Monday Morning October 29 at 10:30 AM in the Burgess Funeral Home in LaSalle. Pastor Lloyd Curry will officiate. Visitation will be from 9 AM until the time of services. The Burgess Funeral Home of LaSalle is in charge of the arrangements. He was born on January 27, 1944 in LaSalle to Kenneth and Anna (Carlson) Long. He served in the Army and served in Vietnam. He was awarded the Purple Heart. He married Wanda Harmston on November 6, 1987 in Ottawa IL. He was in the trucking industry of over 25 years. He drove for several companies including JMX Transportation. He was a member of a Sunday Bowling League and the VFW. Survivors; His wife, 1 Son—Skylar (Krista) Long of Varna, IL 2 Daughters—Samantha Long of LaSalle and Jamie Molder of Canal Fulton Ohio 2 step- daughters—Tammy (Michael) Morgan of Brooklyn Park Minn, Heather (George) Florence of Plymouth Minn 1 step-son – Chancellor Elder Peru 1 Brother—Kenneth (Janet) Long of Florida 14 grandchildren He was preceeded in death by; his parents 2 step-sons, 1 sister and 1 brother Online condolences may be viewed and expressed at www.burgessfh.com
