James “Dago” Pattelli 72 of Peru passed away peacefully at his residence on November 11th.
Per his wishes cremation rites have been accorded. A memorial visitation will be at Burgess Funeral Home in LaSalle on Thursday November 21st from 10am to Noon followed by the memorial service at Noon. Fr. Gregory Jarzombek O.S.B. of St. Bede Abbey will officiate. Burial will follow at St. Vincent Cemetery.
He was born on September 18, 1952, at St. Mary’s Hospital in LaSalle to Emil and Irene (Jagodzinski) Pattelli.
For over thirty years he worked for the City of Peru, Street Department. “Dago” lived life to the fullest and appreciated the outdoors. He enjoyed going on walks, exploring new places, fishing and riding his Harley whenever he had the chance. He always cherished the moments when he could spend time with family and friends. He always made time to attend the many activities of his grandchildren. His four-legged friends were family, especially Hanz. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus 792 of LaSalle. He will be truly missed by many.
He is survived by his daughter; Terri (Mick) Combs of Oglesby, two stepdaughters: Brandi Battaglia of Lasalle & Jessica Zamudio of Oklahoma, many grandchildren; Gianna (Nick) Mussari of Orland Park, Siena Combs of Oglesby, and Heaven, Nevaeh, Jordan, Paris & Marisol of Oklahoma, two great-grandchildren; Sofia and Penelope, one brother; Bob (Mary Beth) Pattelli of LaSalle, nieces and nephews, and his special friend; Kathy Jo.
He is preceded in death by; his parents, one brother Jon, and his beloved dog, Hanz.
