Obituary for James "Jim" Easton
James “Jim” Easton 81 of Utica passed away unexpectedly January 12 at 6:20 PM at his residence. Cremation rites have been accorded. A memorial service will be at a later date. The Burgess Funeral Home in Utica is assisting the family.
Jim was born on August 29, 1939 at Peoples Hospital in Peru to Harold and Edith (Carbine) Easton.
He served his country through the branch of the Marines during the Vietnam War.
He married Donna Kammerer in July of 1970 in Peru.
He was an Operating Engineer through Union 150 District 5 for 50 years in which he received his lifetime gold card.
He was a member of the American Legion of Oglesby, and a former Mason. He enjoyed the outdoors through fishing and hunting. At home he would spend countless hours doing woodworking. His creations were through his thoughts and not a blue print. He loved the time that he could be with family and friends. He cherished and idolized his grandchildren. He loved watching the Cubs and Bears with Donna
She is survived by his wife of 50 years.
1 Daughter: Dawn (Cory) Reed of Panama City Beach Fl.
11 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by: his parents, 1 Son Robert Easton (2013) 1 Daughter and Son-In-law Mike and Brenda Bedeker (2011) 1 Brother: Harold “Zeke” Easton, 1 Sister: Cora Kowtko.
