Obituary for James Edward Hoberg
James (Jim) Edward Hoberg, 76, of Peru, Illinois passed away on August 14, 2022 at the Royal Alexandria Hospital in Paisley, Scotland surrounded by members of his family.
Jim was born on April 3, 1946 to Ralph and Bernice (Heilstedt) Hoberg in Peru, Illinois. He graduated from LaSalle Peru Township High School and went on to join the Marine Corp. He later graduated from Illinois Valley Community College with a degree in Computer Science.
He married Teresa Jane Tomsha on July 19, 1969 in Las Vegas, Nevada. He worked for 40 years as a computer developer and tester for AT&T/Lucent Technologies.
Jim was a loving son, brother, husband, father and grandfather.
Surviving are his wife Teresa Hoberg; four children Julie (Jamie) Welton, Sara (Tony) Scheri, Jamie (Rumey Ishizawar) Hoberg and Margaret Hoberg; six grandchildren Joseph Scheri, Grace Scheri, Keller Welton, Owen Welton, Anne Hoberg and Alice Hoberg; and several nieces and nephews and his brother William (Mary) Hoberg. He was preceded in death by his parents Ralph and Bernice Hoberg and brother David Hoberg.
Private services were held on August 25, 2022 at The Burgess Funeral Home in LaSalle, Illinois.
