Jacqueline Curtin 93 of Ottawa, passed away peacefully with family at her side at the LaSalle County Nursing Home in Ottawa on November 8th. A grave service will be Friday November 17th, at 11 AM, at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Utica. The Very Reverend Paul Carlson, Pastor of Holy Family Church in Oglesby will officiate.
She was born on June 24, 1930 in Woodstock, Il. to Melvin and Deretha (Armstrong) Woods.
She married Michael Curtin on August 11, 1958 at St. Columbia Church in Ottawa.
She and Micheal owned and operated Curtin’s Tavern in Ottawa for many years. She was a custodian for Illinois bell/ Ameritech/ At&t for several years.
She was a member of St. Mary’s Church in Utica. She and Michael enjoyed raising horses. Family and friends meant a lot to her.
She is survived by:
Two daughters: Lori (Mick) Carey of Utica, and Debra (John) Ewan of Peoria, Arizona.
One son: Michael (Diane) Curtin of Ottawa.
Six grandchildren: Cristen, Carley, Alison, David, Leigha, and Pat.
Seven great grandchildren
One sister: Patricia Fanti of Ottawa
Many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by: her husband (2004) one son (Timothy) and a granddaughter (Amy).
