Irene M. Jozwiak 98 of LaSalle passed away peacefully on September 24 at Manor Court in Peru. A funeral mass will be Monday September 30th at 11AM, at St. Hyacinth Church. The Very Reverend Tom Otto, Pastor of LaSalle Catholic Parishes will officiate. Burial will follow at St. Hyacinth Cemetery. Visitation will be in the church on Monday from 10:00AM until the time of services. The Burgess Funeral Home in LaSalle is handling the arrangements.
Irene was born on February 7, 1926 in LaSalle to Leon and Mary (Ryczek) Witt.
On June 11, 1949 at St. Hyacinth Church, she married Leonard Jozwiak.
For several years she was employed by Blakely’s Department Store in LaSalle, and Wagner Home Improvements in Peru as a secretary.
She was a member of St. Hyacinth Church.
She is survived by: her daughter; Joann of New Lebanon, Ohio. One grandson; Jake (April) Jozwiak of North Bend, Oregon. Two great granddaughters; Kyra and Autumn Jozwiak. Her caretaker and niece; Kathy Wujek of Peru, along with other nieces and nephews. A daughter in law; Virginia Jozwiak of Corpus Cristi, Texas.
She is preceded in death by; her husband of forty years (1989), One son; Kenneth, Parents, One sister; Florence Kramkowski, and one brother; Leonard Witt.
